Using the tools <strong>of</strong> economic theory and analysis as well as narrative history, the course explores the factors that contributed to America’s economic development from colonial times to the post World War II era. While the course will emphasize America’s economic development, it will place economic change within the larger context <strong>of</strong> America’s political and cultural evolution. An understanding <strong>of</strong> America’s economic development will also provide insights into America’s role in an increasingly interconnected world.
