Annual Rotary Run Charity Classic on
Sunday, Oct.14th at The Community
House, 415 West Eighth St., Hinsdale.
Walkers get set to participate in
Rotary Charity Classic 2011
The Mutt Strut has grown into a fun
popular event for pets, people and a
great place to meet other pet lovers!
No pet? You can register for the 3k, 5k
and 10k run, or the a 5k walk. Join the
other walkers for a morning of music,
activities, and the grand finale award
ceremony.

HHS Bake Sale, Sat. Sept 8th
HHS will host a
bake sale on
Saturday,
Sept.8th. From
9am - 4pm.
The HHS booth will serve up a variety
of delicious homemade baked goods
including: brownies, cookies, cakes,
cupcakes, breads and more! All of the
proceeds benefit our shelter animals.

Retailers Garage Sale and HHS
Bake Sale held at the Public Works
Building next to the shelter.

Pennies for Paws “2012 Spare Change Drive”
Breaks Records!
A special THANK YOU to all of the participating schools, classrooms, and
groups who participated in the Hinsdale Humane Society's "Pennies for
Paws" 2012 Spare Change
Drive. We are excited to announce
that a record number of
schools and classrooms enrolled
this year - and together they
raised $8,079.66!
A very special thanks to our
friends at Hinsdale Bank and
Trust, the official bank of the
Pennies for Paws program, who
have sponsored the spare change
drive from its kick off in 2009.
And, over the past four years,
we have raised a total of
$22,000! That is a lot of coin
counting!
It has been rewarding to see the
program grow and to interact with
our area schools and children.
We are inspired by how caring,
loving, and passionate our young
children are toward animals.
And, we are proud of the efforts
of the students to help our homeless
animals. Special thanks to our
“Top Dog” Schools: Madison
School, Hinsdale; Elm School,
Burr Ridge; Monroe School,
Hinsdale and The Lane School,
Hinsdale.
A special congratulations to The
Lane School and Girl Scout Troop
51021 who in addition to collecting
spare change, collected food,
supplies and toys for the animals.
The girls also created a heartwarming
story book.
“Pennies for Paws is an important
youth-led program designed to
bring Humane Education into
school classrooms, while raising
money for homeless animals,”
shared Lori Halligan, HHS Executive
Director. “Together we
raise awareness of homeless pets,
and help children make a difference
in our community.”
