We were very pleased with our
attendance at our luncheons in 2011, and
based on our preliminary plans for 2012,
we would expect our attendance to
continue to grow. Please watch for the

If I have any questions about
medical insurance or payment
concerns, what should I do?
Please call us directly with your questions
or concerns. We have options to support
families in need. Call 612-596-6112, or
email jcarns@shrinenet.org and we will
respond to your question or concern.
Why are you now collecting co-pays
and deductibles?
Insurance companies are requiring that
Shriners Hospitals for Children inform
you of any co-pays, deductible and coinsurance.
I cannot afford this appointment.
Should I cancel?
No, our primary focus is to ensure
you/your child received the care needed.
We have options available to assist you.
We have a Waiver Form that you can fill
out to ensure your child receives care here
without financial hardship.
Can Shriners give me a discount on
the amount I owe?

When is the deductible and copay
due?
We will send you a statement once your
insurance company has processed your
claim and once they let us know your
exact patient responsibility.
May I make my payment at the
Hospital?
Payments to Shriners Hospitals are made
to our post office box listed on the billing
statement. Payments cannot be accepted
at the Hospital.
What if I do not pay my copay and
deductible?
Your financial ability to pay will not affect
your care at Shriners Hospitals.
My insurance denied the charges
you submitted. Does this mean I
must pay them?
No. If charges are denied, Shriners
Hospital does not seek any further
payment.
I received a check from my insurance
company. What should I do with it?
You should sign the back of the check
with all names listed as the payee. Write
under the signature(s), Pay to the Order
of Shriners Hospitals for Children.
