Editor’s Letter
Bigger and better.
It’s inspirational to see spring finally here. I always look
forward to seeing the new growth on the trees and the
colourful spring flowers bursting open.
This issue marks a significant change for us here at
LUXURY. We’re excited to showcase a much bigger
magazine – now at 120 pages. This edition also looks
back over the last five years of reviews to bring you our
very first ‘Best of the best’ for both city hotels and beach
resorts. We don’t often have time to reflect back so now is the opportune moment
to do so as we re-visit some of LUXURY’s absolute favourites. We are also moving
to a six monthly publication cycle, but will still bring you the best of luxury stays
from around the world.
“This edition also looks back over the last five years
of reviews to bring you our very first ‘Best of the Best’
for both city hotels and resorts.”
This issue, we also visit Buenos Aires, the home of the flamboyant Tango and step
out into its lively city scene. We indulge and stay at the Four Seasons in Langkawi
– an archipelago made up of 99 islands on Malaysia’s west coast. Then we touch
down in Macau to sample the new lifestyle resort called Galaxy, offering everything
you could ever want in both entertainment and relaxation.
Closer to home, Peter Thornley gives a first-hand account on the recent opening of
Wakatipu Grill at Hilton Queenstown and we explore a serene retreat in Fiji that’s
less known to New Zealanders, Wakaya Club & Spa.
So enjoy the read and I invite you to email me your thoughts on your luxury travel
finds to mel@travelpublications.co.nz. I look forward to hearing from you.
Keep relishing what the wonderful world of travel has to offer.
