SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
The Football Team won their Thanksgiving Game against Grafton, under the coaching
direction of the new head coach, Ray Richards. The boys’ and girls’ Soccer Teams
competed in the district tournaments. The girls’ Basketball Team won the SWCL
tournament and also went to the district tournament. The Volleyball Team tied for the
SWCL title and also competed in the district tournament. The spring Track Team
realized huge results, as the girls’ team won the SWCL title and Molly McCausland
represented Millbury at a New England tournament where she placed 3 rd in the Javelin
Throw.
The events listed at each school are only a small portion of the many opportunities
available to all students. Although academic achievement for every student is the school
district’s priority, all of these activities assist students in developing confidence,
leadership, skills and a sense of self and team. These enhancements to the curricula are
what motivate some students to remain in school. Whatever the reason, Millbury is
fortunate to have teachers, coaches, administrators, volunteers, parents and community
members that come together to support the community’s most valuable assets – its
children.
