Varsity Softball
2012 State Champions!
In 2012, Blanchet’s varsity
softball team brought home
the 3A state championship
title. The team racked up a
spectacular run of victories
advancing them to the OSAA 3A
State Championship game. The
girls shut out Myrtle Creek 20-0
in the first round of state playoffs
and then passed by their fellow
conference players of Pleasant
Hill 5-4 in the quarterfinal game.
Following that was a battle
against Dayton with a final score
of 10-5 in Blanchet’s favor taking
them into the championship
game. In the end, the Lady
Cavaliers took the state title in a
5–1 victory over conference rival
Santiam Christian.
Blanchet’s only senior player,
Allie Butterfield, led the Lady
Cavaliers to the state title and
was named 1st Team All State
Infielder and 3A Player of the
Year. In November of 2011,
Butterfield signed to play softball
with the Arizona State University
Sun Devils.
