Neutron Flux Monitoring System
Provides Core neutrons flux monitoring during all plant conditions, and transmits signals for
use in the Plant Protection and Monitoring System.
Plant Control System
Provides the automatic control of all parameters relative to the operation of the Reactor,
Accelerator, and other systems belonging to the Nuclear Island.
Leak Detection System
Permits the detection of primary coolant leakage from the Reactor Coolant System.
Radiation Monitoring and Protection System
Provides radiation monitoring of plant effluents, process fluids, and plant areas. Provides
alarms, indications, and automatic protective actions for concerns of the Health Physics.
Radioactive Drain Network System
Provides storage of all the liquid radwaste inside the Radwaste Building (designed to house
all the equipment needed for processing solid, liquid, and gaseous wastes deriving from the
plant process).
Waste Gas System
Provides collection and temporary storage, in the Reactor Containment, of the gaseous
products deriving from the plant process and, consequently, it provides transportation and
storage of them inside the Radwaste Building.
Waste Liquid System
Provides collection and temporary storage, in the Reactor Containment, of the liquid
products deriving from the plant process and, consequently, it provides transportation and
storage of them inside the Radwaste Building.
3.2.1 Reactor System
The reactor system constitute, mainly, with the Reactor Vessels, the Reactor Pit, the
Reactor Internals, the Above Core Structure and the Reactor Roof, is shown in Figure 3.2-1
(see Ref. [1])
