Canta al mar 2015 – Festival Coral Internacional October 21 – 25, 2015 | Calella/Barcelona, Spain Due to the great enthusiasm among the choral scene regarding the new festival Canta al mar 2012 INTERKULTUR will ensure that Calella will become the meeting place for choirs from all over the world on a yearly basis. Thus also in 2015 from Oct. 21 to 25. In general applies that the fantastic metropolis Barcelona will be an attractive part of this festival. Either as venue for the competition and friendship concerts or simply as destination for a day trip. 3.5 kilometres of sandy beach as well as its location directly at the Mediterranean Sea and close to Barcelona make Calella a popular European travel destination. During the choir festival numerous friendship concerts will take place in the contemplative old town with its Catalan flair. All concert and competition venues as well as accommodations and other event locations in Calella are situated within walking distance. Thus attending concerts and other events can be combined perfectly with a placid stroll through the historic old town. Here choirs will meet, celebrate and sing together and get to know other nations and their traditions. Mixed, male, female, children’s and youth choirs can participate in the competition in established categories and different levels of difficulty. Special attention is given to the categories “Folklore“ and “Pop“. No category will require compulsory pieces so that all participating choirs can choose an appropriate repertoire and perform in front of the jury without major restrictions. de Utah, EE. UU. , Ros<strong>al</strong>ind H<strong>al</strong>l está a cargo<br />

del programa cor<strong>al</strong> más grande de los Estados<br />

Unidos, en el que participan unos 1.000 estudiantes<br />

por semestre. En esta institución,<br />

además de enseñar clases de música cor<strong>al</strong>, es<br />

la directora del Concert Choir, un coro mixto<br />

de cien estudiantes de nivel avanzado además<br />

del BYU Men’s Chorus, una cor<strong>al</strong> masculina<br />

de 180 voces de nivel básico. Tanto en 2013<br />

como en 2014, la prestigiosa revista Princeton<br />

cor<strong>al</strong> de su nativa G<strong>al</strong>es sigue ejerciendo<br />

un gran inluencia en su labor. Famosa por<br />

su estilo innovativo y vivaz cuando enseña técnicas<br />

voc<strong>al</strong>es y de ensayo, ella prosigue una<br />

vigorosa actividad docente en ambos lados<br />

del Atlántico.<br />

As Director of Choirs at Brigham Young University,<br />

Utah, Ros<strong>al</strong>ind H<strong>al</strong>l oversees the largest<br />

university chor<strong>al</strong> program in the USA,<br />

in which 1,000 students participate each semester.<br />

Here, in addition to teaching classes<br />

in chor<strong>al</strong> music, she conducts the BYU Concert<br />

Choir, a mixed choir of 100 advancedlevel<br />

singers and the BYU Men’s Chorus, an<br />

entry-level choir of 180 singers. In both 2013<br />

and 2014, the Princeton Review named her<br />

as one of the top 10 professors in the USA.<br />

Before coming to the US to pursue a postgraduate<br />

degree in chor<strong>al</strong> music, Professor<br />

H<strong>al</strong>l’s British training in voc<strong>al</strong> performance<br />

was at London’s Roy<strong>al</strong> Academy of Music<br />

and Edinburgh and London Universities. Although<br />

she has now lived and worked in the<br />

US for 25 years, the strong chor<strong>al</strong> traditions<br />

of her homeland, W<strong>al</strong>es, still p<strong>al</strong>y a large role<br />

in her work. Renowned for her innovative<br />

and vivacious approach to voc<strong>al</strong> and rehears<strong>al</strong><br />

technique, she is a busy clinician on both<br />

sides of the Atlantic.
