Towing
If we are unable to get the vehicle going, we will arrange
for the vehicle to be towed to a place of safety or repair.
Towing is limited to:
Metro – Towing, by standard towing equipment within
20 km of the breakdown location, in any direction. Excess
distance costs over 20 km must be paid by the member
at the time of the tow.
Country – Towing, by standard towing equipment back
to the nearest available Service Depot up to a distance of
100 km (200 km round trip).
Excess distance costs above 100 km (200 km round trip)
must be paid by the member at the time of the tow.
Country fringe tow
If you breakdown less than 100 km from home in a
country serviced area and your vehicle/towed unit cannot
be made mobile at the roadside, one of the following
options may be applied immediately after Road Service.

A ‘free’ tow for your vehicle and your towed unit
(if applicable), up to 100 km (200 km round trip) back
to the nearest available country service depot by the
shortest practical route.

A ‘free’ tow for your vehicle and your towed unit
(if applicable), up to 20 km (limited to $120 per incident)
in any direction from the scene of the breakdown.
■■
A ‘free’ tow for your vehicle and your towed unit
(if applicable), up to 100 km (200 km round trip) back
to the nearest available country service depot by the
shortest practical route and an additional free tow up to
20 km (limited to $120 per incident) beyond the service
depot location. Excess distance costs must be paid by
the member at the time of the tow.
The Country Fringe Tow benefit is only available at the
time of the breakdown.
‘Free’ towing is limited to mechanical or electrical
breakdowns only.
AANT does not cover any after accident towing costs or
any repairs – accident, mechanical, electrical
or otherwise.
Towing of caravans and/or trailers

If you are towing a caravan, trailer, horse float or similar
and your vehicle breaks down AANT will tow your
vehicle and your towed unit (Refer metropolitan/country
towing on page 22).

If your vehicle requires further recovery to your home or
destination, your towed unit will not be eligible.
Battery replacement
Should you purchase an AANT branded battery, you will
receive an $11 discount.
Lock-out/Locksmiths services
A Locksmith Subsidy of $38.50 is available when a
locksmith attendance is required due to your vehicle
being disabled. The subsidy contributes to the call-out
cost and does not extend to the replacement of parts or
labour costs. Alternatively, you will be offered a tow using
standard towing equipment, within the towing limitations
of your membership entitlement. Locksmith Subsidy is
not available for vehicles that have been disabled due to
accident, vandalism or stolen.

and advice is available to you anywhere in Australia, with
assistance in relaying urgent messages to your family.
