Road Service
Terms and Conditions
Road Service is available to AANT Members only. A
member of AANT is entitled to service for any vehicle they
are driving at the time of breakdown (conditions apply).

AANT Membership is personal and therefore service
does not cover any person other than the member. It
cannot be transferred to or be used by anyone other
than the named financial member.

You (the member) must be the driver of the vehicle
at the time of the breakdown and must be present upon
arrival of the AANT Service Provider to receive
Road Service.
■■
Your AANT Membership must be financial at the time of
requesting service.
■■
You must present your AANT Membership card to the
AANT Service Provider upon arrival. If you are unable
to produce your current AANT Membership card at the
time of service you may be charged at the normal rate
by the AANT contractor.

In instances where service is required in a location
where the road is unsurfaced or a road which is not
trafficable by a conventional 2 wheel drive vehicle, a
cost may be incurred which must be borne by the
member at the time of service.

When seeking a refund from AANT, Road Service paid
by you (the member) will be calculated at the AANT
contractor rate.
■■
A serviced area is any area in Australia where you are
able to obtain Road Service from AANT or equivalent
Associations or Clubs affiliated with the Australian
Automobile Association.
■■
A non-serviced area is any area where these services
are not available through an Association or Club
affiliated with the Australian Automobile Association.
■■
Provision of assistance/services to vehicles, caravans
and trailers is limited to breakdown locations accessible
by an improved public road using a conventional
2-wheel drive vehicle. By definition an ‘improved public
road’ is a road where the surface of which has been
prepared, formed, metalled or gravelled and trafficable
at the time and complies with the definitions stated in
the ‘SA Road Traffic Act’ and the Australian Road Rules.

In the instance where a vehicle has broken down prior
to you joining AANT, a service fee, entrance fee and
minimum Plus level of membership will apply.

Road Service is essentially aimed at getting a vehicle
back on the road or to a garage for permanent repairs,
although minor repairs may be carried out on the spot
if they can be done within a reasonable time using
available hand tools.
■■
Child locked in car – If the member indicates it is an
emergency situation or the child is in distress the call will
be routed to emergency services i.e. ambulance.
Excluded from ‘free’ service are:

Work carried out when a vehicle/towed unit is located at
a commercial place of repair or AANT Country Service
Depot.
■■
Travelling costs from the nearest available AANT
Country Service Depot for any distance beyond:
– 32 km for Standard Members
– 100 km for Plus Members
– 200 km for Premium Members
■■
Call-out for a fault that has already been attended to by
AANT and has not been rectified.
■■
Service to and recovery of vehicles, caravans and
trailers on non-improved public roads or land not
trafficable by a conventional 2 wheel drive vehicle.
■■
Towing of vehicles, caravans and trailers involved in an
accident, fire, vandalism or theft whether insured or not.
■■
Towing or recovery of bogged vehicles.
■ ■ ‘Free’ service or towing of vehicles is not applicable if
home repairs have been undertaken.
■■
Any repairs associated with an accident, mechanical or
electrical failure or otherwise.
