Towing
■■
If we are unable to get the vehicle going, we will arrange
for the vehicle to be towed.
■■
AANT does not cover the towing/recovery of bogged
vehicles/towed unit.
Towing assistance may be provided at your (the
member’s) expense.
‘Free’ towing is limited to:
Metro
■■
Towing, by standard towing equipment within 8 km of
the breakdown location, in any direction.
■■
Excess distance costs above 8 km must be paid by the
member at the time of the tow.
Country
■■
Towing, by standard towing equipment back to the
nearest available Country Service Depot, up to a
distance of 32 km (64 km round trip).
■■
Excess distance costs above 32 km (64 km round trip)
must be paid by the member at the time of the tow.
Fuel
If your vehicle is out of fuel, AANT may provide, at
your cost, sufficient fuel to enable you to drive to the
nearest fuel outlet. For any fuel other than unleaded, or
if the AANT Service Provider is unable to supply fuel at
the roadside, you will be offered a tow, using standard
towing equipment, within the towing limitations of your
membership entitlement:
Country – Tow back to the attending service depot up to
32 km or drop off on route.
Metro – 8 km in any direction.
Wheel changing
Tyre repairs are not undertaken at the roadside, however
if you have a suitable serviceable spare tyre, the AANT
Service Provider will change the wheel of your vehicle.
This service is limited to vehicles/towed unit weighing less
than 2 tonnes and circumstances not requiring specialised
equipment to undertake the wheel change safely.
Jump-start/battery replacement
If your vehicle will not start because of a flat battery,
the AANT Service Provider will assess the battery and
effect a jump-start if appropriate. If necessary, AANT
offers a ‘free’ battery delivery and installation service for
AANT Members, with an extensive range of competitively
priced automotive batteries available for roadside
purchase.
Lock-out/locksmiths services
A Locksmith Subsidy of $22 is available when a locksmith
attendance is required due to your vehicle being disabled.
The subsidy contributes to the call-out cost and does
not extend to the replacement of parts or labour costs.
Alternatively, you will be offered a tow, using standard
towing equipment, within the towing limitations of your
membership entitlement. Locksmith Subsidy is not
available for vehicles that have been disabled due to
accident, vandalism or stolen.
