Do not use aerosol containers or sprays. Make your own Sink, Tub & Tile Cleaner: Mix ¼ cup baking soda and ½ cup white vinegar. For more stubborn grime: This can be put in a spray bottle. Heat equal amounts of white vinegar and water. After applying — wait a few minutes before you scrub. FOR CLEANING TOILET BOWLS Use white vinegar, full strength, routinely to clean toilet bowls. If you need a stronger solution, pour one cup Borax and ¼ cup white vinegar into the toilet for 30 minutes before scrubbing. Or as a fun alternative: Add a can of Coca Cola in the toilet bowl; wait one hour before brushing. HOW IS YOUR GREEN IQ? Green Building: A term used to define construction practices, resulting in increasing the energy efficiency, lessening the impact on the environment. This may include reuse, reduce, recycling or repurposing materials. HERS Index: A rating system which grades a home on energy efficiency. Off-gassing: Dangerous emissions from products that contain formaldehyde in some products such as: carpeting, paints, flooring, plywood or adhesive products.
