contractors and how we can work together to benefit the
consumer.

GREEN CLEANING TIPS Replace commercial cleaners with
green alternatives. Do not use aerosol containers or sprays.
Make your own Sink, Tub & Tile Cleaner: Mix ¼ cup baking
soda and ½ cup white vinegar. For more stubborn grime:
This can be put in a spray bottle. Heat equal amounts
of white vinegar and water. After applying — wait a few
minutes before you scrub.
FOR CLEANING TOILET BOWLS Use white vinegar, full
strength, routinely to clean toilet bowls. If you need a
stronger solution, pour one cup Borax and ¼ cup white
vinegar into the toilet for 30 minutes before scrubbing. Or
as a fun alternative: Add a can of Coca Cola in the toilet
bowl; wait one hour before brushing.
HOW IS YOUR GREEN IQ?
Green Building: A term used to define construction
practices, resulting in increasing the energy efficiency,
lessening the impact on the environment. This may include
reuse, reduce, recycling or repurposing materials.
HERS Index: A rating system which grades a home on
energy efficiency.
Off-gassing: Dangerous emissions from products that
contain formaldehyde in some products such as: carpeting,
paints, flooring, plywood or adhesive products.
REBATES SAVE YOU MONEY These are all energy-efficiency
rebates. Your savings will result by getting the rebate and
by more efficient usage: Clothes Dryer $30, Lavatory Faucet
$50, Low-Flow Showerhead $20, Tankless Water Heater
$350, Dryer (gas) $30; Windows $1.00 a square foot.
