Working With Early Years Achieving Early is the Early Years programme from Achievement for All, specifically designed to meet the needs of the Early Years sector and it focuses on four key elements: • Working with others • Strengthening leadership and management • Learning and progress • Health, happiness and well- being An experienced Early Years Coach is trained and assigned to an Early Years setting to support them in using the Achieving Early improvement framework to develop a tailored approach to meet their needs. This activity is supplemented with local training sessions, often delivered in a networking environment and includes on-line training modules. The programme has just completed a two year pilot and we are able to demonstrate the significant contribution we have made to improving the quality of practice in settings, including the impact on staff confidence when working with parents, and on parental confidence at supporting their child’s learning. Our Year 1 data shows that we have closed the gap for many children and all children were assessed at an age appropriate level at the end of the programme. We will report on our Year 2 data in Autumn 2015.
