FOLLOWERS—BUT IN MY EXPERIENCE,
THESE “OVERNIGHT SUCCESSES”
HAVE USUALLY BEEN BLOGGING FOR
YEARS AND ONLY STARTED BEING
RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR HARD WORK
RECENTLY. AS BIZ STONE ONCE SAID,
“TIMING, PERSEVERANCE, AND TEN
YEARS OF TRYING WILL EVENTUALLY
MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE AN OVERNIGHT

Most of the biggest bloggers you know started their blogs
back in 2009 or earlier. It takes a lot of time to build your
audience. I started A Fashion Nerd over two years ago,
and after 693 posts, I now have over 35,000 followers on
Instagram and 7,000,000 views on vine. Over the span of
two years, I went out almost every single day and shot an entire blog,
edited that blog, and posted that blog up on every single social media
platform I had access to. I was determined and relentless. I never let
anything get in my way—not even sickness could stop me.
