Diagnosis
ในปัจจุบันนี้เป็นที่ยอมรับว่า 2D color Doppler echocardiography เป็น investigation tool
ที่ดีที่สุด มีความน่าเชื่อถือ (reliability) ผู้ป่วยไม่ต้องเจ็บตัว (noninvasiveness) ไม่ต้องเสี่ยงต่อการ
รับรังสีหรือสารทึบรังสี โดยสามารถบอกถึง สาเหตุและความรุนแรงของโรคได้ด้วย
ในกรณีของ surgical point of view เมื่อขณะท า 2D color Doppler echocardiography ควร
จะสามารถบอกข้อมูลต่อไปนี้
- whether or not the patient has tricuspid disease
- whether it is organic, functional, or mixed
- quantification of the degree regurgitation and direction of regurgitation jet
- pulmonary artery peak and mean pressures
- presence and quantification of transvalvular pressure gradients
- maximum and minimum tricuspid annulus diameter and systolic shortening
- anatomical features of the valve, such as leaflet thickness, mobility, billowing of
the leaflet body, and location of the prolapsing free edge toward the right atrium
- absence or presence of a patent foramen ovale (PFO)
Surgical indications
โดยส่วนใหญ่แล้วเทคนิคการซ่อมลิ้นหัวใจในผู้ป่วย tricuspid valve disease ไม่ค่อยยุ่งยาก
และได้ผลค่อนข้างดี ยกเว้นในรายที่เป็น severe disease ที่อาจมีผลการผ่าตัดที่ไม่ดีซึ่งอาจถึงกับ
