Studies, Economics and languages Other Than English Courses in accordance with the<br />

Texas Education Agency and/or Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board<br />

rules/regulations/policies.<br />

Other Advanced Courses approved by the FBISD Board of Trustees:<br />

Precalculus<br />

Humanities<br />

Other languages Ill, IV,V, VI<br />

Career and Technical Education courses approved by Texas Education Agency to count for<br />

Advanced Mathematics or Science<br />

Per local board policy, students enrolled in these courses must earn a grade of 60<br />

or higher in order to be considered exempt for UIL No Pass, No Play purposes.<br />

Field Trips (FMG Local)<br />

Participating in school sponsored trips is an integral part of a student‘s educational<br />

experience. However, academic, along with student attendance and disciplinary record,<br />

will determine whether a student should be allowed to miss school for this purpose.<br />

Therefore, in order for a student to be eligible to participate in a school sponsored trip,<br />

the following conditions must be met:<br />

• <strong>Student</strong>s must be passing all non-exempted classes which are to be missed.<br />

• <strong>Student</strong>s must have a satisfactory disciplinary record.<br />

• <strong>Student</strong>s must make up all work missed while on field trips and other school<br />

sponsored activities.<br />

The above restrictions do not apply to field trips of an educational nature where the<br />

student is addressing the successful completion of the TEKS for the class sponsoring<br />

the field trip.<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s who participate in school-sponsored trips shall be required to ride in<br />

transportation provided by the school to and from the event. Exception may be made if<br />

the student‘s parent or guardian personally requests that the student be allowed to ride<br />
