A student who develops an early graduation plan may be reclassified accordingly,<br />
regardless of years in school. Reclassification generally occurs in January, the end of<br />

Publications / Posters (FMA Local)<br />
All written material over which the school does not exercise editorial control intended<br />
for distribution to students must be submitted for prior review to the principal. For<br />
outside organizations, printed material must be submitted to the Assistant<br />
Superintendent who will determine if the materials may be distributed.<br />
Random Drug-Testing for <strong>Student</strong>s<br />

Purpose:<br />
• Prevent injury, illness, and harm resulting from the use of illegal and<br />
performance- enhancing drugs or alcohol<br />
• Help enforce a drug-free educational environment<br />
• Deter student use of illegal and performance-enhancing drugs or alcohol<br />
• Educate students regarding the harm caused by the use of illegal and performanceenhancing<br />
drugs or alcohol.<br />
Scope of the Testing:<br />
Flour Bluff ISD requires drug testing of any student in grades 7-12 who<br />
chooses to participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities.<br />
A student participating in these activities shall be tested for the presence of illegal<br />
drugs.<br />
The District will conduct random testing up to 8 times a year.<br />
There will be two pools of students that are randomly sampled. One pool is for grades<br />
7-8 and the other is for grades 9-12.<br />
Covered Activities:<br />
• School-sponsored extracurricular activities include all activities/organizations/clubs/<br />
competitions which meet and participate in activities outside of the regular school day.<br />
