travels through the political necessity of securing<br />

the dramatic effects of the Reformation, and the<br />
difficulties of a female monarch.<br />

This course of nine slide lectures will look at the<br />
art and architecture of Turkey from the arrival of<br />
the Seljuk Turks in the eleventh century, to the<br />
end of the Ottoman period at the turn of the<br />
twentieth century. Architecture will be the<br />
principle theme supporting the historical narrative<br />
and several lectures will cover the decorative arts,<br />
including ceramics, calligraphy, miniatures, luxury<br />
goods and textiles.<br />

During the course, we will be covering a variety of<br />
basic beading and wirework techniques. Projects<br />
will include making larger on-trend fashion<br />
jewellery, fine beading techniques using seed<br />
beads and also working with wire and chain.<br />
Come join us to make some stunning pieces of<br />
jewellery. (Please note course fee does not<br />
include materials, these can be purchased<br />
separately from beading suppliers or from<br />
the tutor).<br />
