LANGUAGES
The following guide will help students to choose
the correct course.
Beginners - for those with no or very little
knowledge of the language.
Beginners Continuation - for those with very
little knowledge of the language.
Improvers Level 1 - for those who have completed
a beginners course of 1 years duration. Level 1 +
- progressing on from Level 1.
Improvers Level 2 - for those who are gaining a
little more confidence possibly with two years study
and can hold a conversation in the language. Level
2+ - progressing on from Level 2.
Improvers Level 3 - for those who have a good
knowledge of the language leading up to GCSE
Intermediate Level 1 - equivalent to a GCSE level.
Intermediate Level 2 - for those with a good level
of the language - equivalent to a good GCSE level.
Level 2+ - progressing on from Level 2.
Intermediate Level 3 - for those who are post
GCSE level with a good knowledge of the
language. Level 3+ - progressing on from
Level 3.
Advanced - for students who are fluent in a
language and would like to practise their
conversation skills - the classes usually conducted
solely in the language.

asking for and giving basic information as well as
covering various cultural topics.

Come and listen to “la chanson française” from
Leo Ferré and others to nowadays. We shall study
texts, listen to cd’s and look at dvd’s and YouTube
clips in an enjoyable atmosphere.

303sp FRENCH - ON Y VA Improvers Level 1
Wednesday 9 meetings 1.45–3.45 pm
Tutor: Anne-Sophie Adelmant £67.50, £17
Easy to follow, witty and entertaining, this course
is designed for holiday and leisure purposes. We
will concentrate on speaking and understanding
using CDs, role plays…and a good sense
of humour.
From 6 January
102sp FRENCH Improvers Level 1+
Monday 9 meetings 7.00–9.00 pm
Tutor: Anne Hézard £67.50, £17
This course is aimed at people with basic vocabulary
– Aim is to improve their speaking and listening
skills along with grammar practice, for this we shall
use activities and encourage conversation. Course
book: Façon de Parler 2
