The following guide will help students to choose<br />

the correct course.<br />

Beginners - for those with no or very little<br />

knowledge of the language.<br />

Beginners Continuation - for those with very<br />

little knowledge of the language.<br />

Improvers Level 1 - for those who have completed<br />

a beginners course of 1 years duration. Level 1 +<br />

- progressing on from Level 1.<br />

Improvers Level 2 - for those who are gaining a<br />

little more confidence possibly with two years study<br />

and can hold a conversation in the language. Level<br />

2+ - progressing on from Level 2.<br />

Improvers Level 3 - for those who have a good<br />

knowledge of the language leading up to GCSE<br />

Intermediate Level 1 - equivalent to a GCSE level.<br />

Intermediate Level 2 - for those with a good level<br />

of the language - equivalent to a good GCSE level.<br />

Level 2+ - progressing on from Level 2.<br />

Intermediate Level 3 - for those who are post<br />

GCSE level with a good knowledge of the<br />

language. Level 3+ - progressing on from<br />

Level 3.<br />

Advanced - for students who are fluent in a<br />

language and would like to practise their<br />

conversation skills - the classes usually conducted<br />

solely in the language.<br />

Leo Ferré and others to nowadays. We shall study<br />

texts, listen to cd’s and look at dvd’s and YouTube<br />

clips in an enjoyable atmosphere.<br />

303sp FRENCH - ON Y VA Improvers Level 1<br />

Wednesday 9 meetings 1.45–3.45 pm<br />

Easy to follow, witty and entertaining, this course<br />

is designed for holiday and leisure purposes. We<br />

will concentrate on speaking and understanding<br />

using CDs, role plays…and a good sense<br />

of humour.<br />

102sp FRENCH Improvers Level 1+<br />

Monday 9 meetings 7.00–9.00 pm<br />

This course is aimed at people with basic vocabulary<br />

– Aim is to improve their speaking and listening<br />

skills along with grammar practice, for this we shall<br />

use activities and encourage conversation. Course<br />
