In addition to a GED Preparation Class, a Basic Skills Class will be held at Pen Argyl<br />
<strong>and</strong> Nazareth High Schools to improve reading, math, <strong>and</strong> writing skills.<br />
THE FIRST WEEK OF CLASS IS ORIENTATION - STUDENTS MUST ATTEND BOTH DAYS.<br />
If a student cannot attend both days, they must wait until the next class session<br />
beginning in January 2015. Adults who attend class, complete requirements<br />
<strong>and</strong> pass the GED will receive an equivalency High School Diploma.<br />

Inaugural Pink Heels<br />
Dash Fancy Race<br />
For Fierce Women<br />
Easton, PA-<strong>The</strong> inaugural Pink Heels Dash has already<br />
attracted hundreds of participants. <strong>The</strong> event will<br />
take place on Saturday, October 18th, in an effort<br />
to raise money for Pink Heals Slate <strong>Belt</strong> PA chapter,<br />
a non-profit organization—st<strong>and</strong>ing by their motto,<br />
“Supporting women with cancer <strong>and</strong> their families,<br />
not a cause”. <strong>The</strong> event will be held on Easton's North<br />
Third Street <strong>and</strong> will turn into a fundraising<br />
fun-house unlike any other in the Lehigh Valley.<br />
Women, men <strong>and</strong> children alike will be racing down<br />
the street in their finest high-heels, featuring a 50-<br />
yard Kid’s Fun Dash, <strong>and</strong> a 50-yard Dash/Walk for the<br />
adults. Attendees can enjoy food <strong>and</strong> craft vendors,<br />
music, media photos with Margaret the pink fire truck,<br />
<strong>and</strong> an amazing raffle with donations spanning across<br />
the Lehigh Valley.<br />
Five, woman-owned businesses, Crayton’s Creations,<br />
Skinterest Skin Care Boutique, Kudu Creative, Time<br />
Photo Studios <strong>and</strong> Malo Consultancy are engineering<br />
the Pink Heel Dash event. Wendy Jamison said,<br />
“Everyone has been struck by the ugliness of cancer<br />
in someway. This is our way to give back to our<br />
community that supports us.”<br />
Pink Heals is a National not-for-profit organization<br />
focused on community. A group of fire fighters, police<br />
officers, local government officials <strong>and</strong> volunteers that<br />
support women <strong>and</strong> their families battling all types of<br />
cancers. <strong>The</strong>y keep the money here in the community<br />
to help pay cost of living expenses. Pink Heals Slate<br />
<strong>Belt</strong> President, John Rigione says, “We bring love <strong>and</strong><br />
hope to our community—the last thing a woman fighting<br />
cancer should worry about is putting oil in her heating<br />
tank or paying for life saving meds,” explains Rigione.<br />
