THY KINGDOM COME session 9 107<br />
If you grew up going to church, you might know the<br />
old hymn “Trust and Obey.” The chorus is very simple:<br />
“Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in<br />
Jesus than to trust and obey.”<br />
These two words go together—if we trust Jesus, we will be<br />
willing to obey his teaching. And if we’re not willing to do<br />
what Jesus says, it’s probably because at some level we don’t<br />
trust that He knows what’s best or can take care of us.<br />
SHOW ME THE WAY I SHOULD GO,<br />
FOR TO YOU I ENTRUST MY LIFE.<br />
Psalm 143:8<br />
Like so many old hymns, this one is full of truth. We might<br />
find pleasure and even temporary happiness in life by doing<br />
our own thing, but if we’re going to find joy as followers of<br />
Jesus our only option is to trust Him as our King and follow<br />
where He leads.<br />

Who is someone you trust completely? Why have they<br />
earned your trust?<br />
Who is your favorite character in the Bible? How did they<br />
show trust in God?
