Siddarth Malhotra is a famous model who
took his time to establish himself as an
actor. He made his debut as an actor with
Karan Johar’s Student of the Year after
he assisted Sharukh Khan’s My Name is
Khan as an assistant director.
Siddarth Malhotra received
Filmfare award for the best
made debut for the movie.
He went on to star in the
romantic comedy Hasee Toh
Phasee (2014) and the highly
successful romantic thriller Ek
Villain (2014).
Malhotra was born in Delhi,
into a Punjabi family,to
Sunil, a former employee
of the Indian Merchant
Navy, and Rimmi Malhotra,
a homemaker. He was
schooled at Delhi's Don
Bosco School and Birla
Vidya Niketan, and later
attended Shaheed Bhagat
Singh College. At the age
of 18, Malhotra began
modelling. Although he was
successful, he decided to
quit after four years because
he was dissatisfied with the
profession. Interested to
pursue an acting career, he
successfully auditioned for a
film to be directed by Anubhav
Sinha. However, the film
was shelved, following which
he worked as an assistant
director to Karan Johar on the
2010 film My Name Is Khan.
After the stupendous success
of Ek Villain, he teamed
up with Akshay Kumar for
an action entertainer titled
Brothers which bombed at
the box-office. He recently
wrapped up the shoot of
Kapoor and Sons on which he
pinned huge hopes. Shakun
Batra directed the movie and
Siddarth Malhotra, Fawad
Khan, Alia Bhatt played the
lead roles in this romantic
and emotional entertainer.
Rishi Kapoor will be seen in
other important role in the
movie.
Kapoor and Sons released
all over on March 18th
across the world and
the movie received wide
response from the audience
all over. The movie has been
made on a decent budget
and it has been minting huge
money. Top filmmaker Karan
Johar produced the movie on
Dharma Productions banner.
