Alpha Lambda Lambda 15th Anniversary Gala<br />

Voice of the Second District<br />

Frederick, Maryland. November 14, 2015.. The Brothers of<br />

the Alpha Lambda Lambda (ALL) Chapter, along with 250 patrons,<br />

gathered at the Frederick Holiday Inn to celebrate their<br />

15th Anniversary with a Gala in recognition of the tireless works<br />

and efforts of members of the Fraternity and the community.<br />

The celebration was also attended by special guests Brother Curtis Baylor,<br />

Former Grand KRS, Brother Milton Harrison, 2nd District Representative<br />

and the chapter was especially thrilled that Brother Lee Bernard,<br />

27th 2d District Representative took time from his busy schedule to fly<br />

in from Mississippi to be a part of the celebration; Brother Bernard performed<br />

the chapters’ Chartering Ceremony in October 2000. This show<br />

of support to honor the chapter’s contributions to the Fraternity and the<br />

Frederick community is a shining example of the True Omega spirit.<br />

In deference to Omega’s second Cardinal Principle, three high school<br />

seniors, Mr. Nathan Bartlett, Ms. Amani McCauley and Mr. Zachary<br />

Reid were each presented with the Brother Cornelius “Corky” Turner<br />

Alpha Lambda Lambda Brothers at the 15th Anniversary Gala<br />

(Gamma Epsilon 50) Memorial Scholarship award for their excellence<br />

in academic studies and community service. Each student will<br />

receive a scholarship award in the amount of $1,000 each, upon their<br />

entrance into the college of their choice. Additionally, in keeping with<br />

our fourth Cardinal Principle of Uplift, Dr. Olivia White, ALL 2015<br />

Citizen of the Year, was presented with the 2nd District Citizen of the<br />

Year Award by the 2nd District Representative, Brother Milton Harrison.<br />

This year’s Gala marked the capstone event for the Chapter where<br />

the following Brothers were honored for exceptional service:<br />

Omega Man of the Year—Brother Thaddious Goodman (Pi Gamma 68)<br />

Citizen of the Year—Brother Theodore Luck (Omicron Gamma 70)<br />

Superior Service Award—Brother Meredith Hudson (Xi Psi 68)<br />

Special Basileus Award—Brother Irving Duhart (Alpha Lambda Lambda 13)<br />

In addition to the aforementioned awards, Quettes Diainn Goodman was<br />

presented with the Basileus Award for Hospitality, and Terri Coles was<br />

presented with the Basileus Award for Exhibiting the True Omega Spirit.<br />

Alpha Lambda Lambda Christmas Social Action<br />

Alpha Lambda Lambda Brothers celerate Christmas with Lincoln community residents<br />

Frederick, Maryland, 14 Dec 15. The Brothers of Alpha Lambda<br />

Lambda chapter celebrated its annual Christmas party with the residents<br />

of the Lincoln Housing Community. Families and friends<br />

joined together for food, fellowship, and gift giving. This annual<br />

event has been conducted for 15 years wherein the Lincoln community<br />

welcomed the brothers to its neighborhood; in exchange many<br />

of the chapters’ social action endeavors are coordinated within it.<br />

The Social Action Committee Chairman, Brother Thad Good-<br />

man (Pi Gamma 68) spearheaded the event with community leaders<br />

which included the Frederick City Chief of Police. The successful<br />

event culminated with gift cards given to the children as well<br />

as the brothers delivering turkey’s to residents in the community.<br />

The Alpha Lambda Lambda Chapter continues to uplift the Lincoln<br />

Housing Community through its visibility as positive role models<br />

and social action endeavors that give back to those less fortunate.<br />
