Theta Mu Mu 2015 Achievement Week Luncheon<br />
Linthicum Heights. November 14, 2015. It was standing room only at<br />
the BWI Marriot hotel to witness the 2015 Achievement Week celebration<br />
of Brothers and Community patrons of Theta Mu Mu Chapter. The<br />
Chapter that prides itself as “Not Your Daddy’s Grad Chapter” had two<br />
keynote speakers Brother John Skip Victor and the 31st District Representative<br />
James Scrappy Jordan. Both brothers challenged the audience<br />
to make their mark on society and to do it profoundly. Elijah Eugene<br />
Cummings the U.S. Representative for Maryland’s 7th Congressional<br />
District, made a riveting speech that encourage all that was in the room<br />
to continue the long fight for social justice. The Omega Man of the Year<br />
Bro. Evan Murray delivered a passionate speech about his drive and why<br />
Voice of the Second District<br />
working for Omega is his mission. The highlight of the afternoon was<br />
when Timothy Dashiell the Essay Contest winner proclaimed to all that<br />
was in the house what his parent met to him. His speech was so moving<br />
there was not a dry eye in the house. This day was going down in the<br />
history of the chapter as one of its finest moments. The awardees of the<br />
day were: Omega Man of the Year: Bro. Evan Murray, Superior Service<br />
Award: Bro. Jeff Givens, Lifetime Achievement/Founders Award: Bro.<br />
Ed Hill, Col. Charles Young Award: Bro. Morgan Hall, Citizen of the<br />
Year Award: Bro Eric Ravenell and Bro. Eric West, Ira Lynch Humanitarian<br />
Awardees: Rep Elijah Cummings, Dr. Marco Clark, Off. Betty Covington,<br />
Mr. Patrick Johnson. Ms. Rhonda Mclean and Ms. Latasha Peele.<br />

Theta Mu Mu Chapter Contributes to Night of Peace Family Shelter<br />

Baltimore County, MD. December, 2015. The second year in a row<br />
the members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Theta Mu Mu Chapter in<br />
Baltimore County called into action to help support the shelter with necessities<br />
needed to supply the residents. At the December chapter meeting<br />
brothers brought in a variety of items requested by the organization.<br />
Items such as Laundry detergent, toilet paper, wash cloths, envelopes are<br />
just a few of the items that were provided. On December 19th the brothers<br />
delivered the items to the shelter and presented them to the staff and<br />
residents.<br />
Night of Peace Family Shelter, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization<br />
dedicated to assisting homeless families with children. Opening our doors<br />

in 2005, Night of Peace homeless shelter is the only homeless shelter in<br />
Baltimore County that is located in a church.<br />
All families who stay at the shelter stay for an average of three months.<br />
Annually, we serve over 50 families, nearly 170 individuals and we continue<br />
to grow as the need for shelter increases.<br />
Night of Peace mission is to provide year round emergency shelter for<br />
homeless families with children. Their goal is to provide food, shelter<br />
and support in a safe environment while families work to transition into<br />
permanent housing.<br />
Theta Mu Mu under the direction of their Social Action Chair Eric Ravennell<br />
has made a commitment to support the families at this shelter.<br />
