42 V. Organisation<br />
40 Governance Committee and Review Committee<br />
1.<br />
The Governance Committee shall consist of at least three members and not<br />
more than 12 members elected by the Congress. No fewer than half of the<br />
committee’s members, including the chairperson and the deputy chairperson,<br />
shall fulfil the independence criteria as defined in the <strong>FIFA</strong> Governance<br />
Regulations.<br />
2.<br />
The chairperson, deputy chairperson and one independent member of the<br />
Governance Committee, while remaining members of the plenary committee,<br />
shall form the Review Committee.<br />
3.<br />
The Governance Committee shall deal with, and advise and assist the Council<br />
on, all <strong>FIFA</strong> governance matters.<br />
4.<br />
The Review Committee shall conduct eligibility checks in respect of candidates<br />
and incumbent members of <strong>FIFA</strong> bodies in accordance with these Statutes and<br />
the <strong>FIFA</strong> Governance Regulations.<br />
5.<br />
The Review Committee shall conduct the independence reviews in respect of<br />
candidates and incumbent members of the Audit and Compliance Committee<br />
and the judicial bodies as well as of candidates and incumbent members of the<br />
standing committees who must fulfil the independence criteria in accordance<br />
with the <strong>FIFA</strong> Governance Regulations, and shall review the Related-Party<br />
Declarations submitted by the members of the Council.<br />

Details on the Governance Committee’s and the Review Committee’s<br />
responsibilities are stipulated in the <strong>FIFA</strong> Governance Regulations.
