3xLOGIC takes home SIA Award with recently
launched thermal camera

3xLOGIC arrived at this month’s
ISC West annual conference touting
a couple new pieces of hardware
in the video surveillance market.
It then left the Las Vegas show with
another piece of hardware.
The company’s VERA thermal
imaging camera took home the top
award for video surveillance and advanced
imaging technologies in the
Security Industry Association’s New
Product Showcase. The award winners
were announced on April 6 at
the conference.
“SIA New Product Showcase judges
saw many new companies enter the
competition this year for the first
time, and several first-time winners
like 3xLOGIC emerged over strong
contenders,” said Don Erickson, the
association’s CEO.
Matthew Kushner, 3xLOGIC’s
CEO, said thermal imaging technology
is quickly becoming a leading
trend in the security market. VERA’s
analytics do not take into account
things like vehicle headlights, moving
water or the wind – items that could
lead to false alarms triggered by other
systems.
The standalone IP video system
also offers remote access with digital
zoom capabilities. It also is scalable,
allowing customers to purchase multiple
units for a greater security presence.
“No other thermal cameras on the
market today can match the combination
of our thermal technology, QR
code easy install and set-up, edgebased
recording and powerful analytics
packages,” he said. “No competing
product, at this price, offers the detection
range we have, not even close,
and this camera includes our onboard
analytics as standard. The competition
has only 3rd party analytics as an
option.”
In addition, Kushner said the technology
now is becoming more affordable
for businesses of all types and
sizes to use.
“Clearly, the judging panel for these
NPS awards recognized the camera’s
game-changing line-up of superior
features at a price that makes thermal
technology affordable for all for the
first time.”
The NPS program, which began in
1979, recognized winners in 26 different
categories this year and received
about 100 entries from companies of
various sizes. Erickson added that the

entries submitted showcased a variety
of technological advances and innovations.
Besides VERA, 3xLOGIC also
introduced another system at ISC
West. Called a Time of Flight camera,
the system tracks people and produces
a three-dimensional image for accurate,
real-time processing of scene
data.
“The Time of Flight camera has unbelievable
accuracy, and it is the least
costly device on the market today
that offers such power and processing
potential,” Kushner said. “This
camera is ideal for retail deployments
where accuracy of information can
empower marketing and operations
professionals in making critical business
decisions.”
