As Headmaster for the past
fifteen years, Father O'Brien has
gained an unparallelled insight
into the essence of Fordham
Prep, that is, its community. He
has encouraged the development
of an innovative educational program,
which we know as the
FORDHAM PREP PLAN, but insists
that the school's fundamental
asset is the close relationship
between students and faculty.
This factor, he believes, forms the
motivation of the entire plan.
Leaving the office of Headmaster
to Dr. Bouillette, Father O'Brien
now dedicates himself to the
full-time responsibilities of President.
With a deep abiding faith in
the nature and destiny of the
Prep, he has tackled the financial
problems of the school.
The demands of his office may
limit his time for direct contact
with the students, but their educational
needs remain his foremost
concern. Father O'Brien
reveals his feelings, not only towards
his office but the entire
Prep community, in the words of
St. Ignatius: "Love ought to manifest
itself in deeds, not just in
words."
Happy are those who dream
dreams and are ready to pay the
price to make them come true.
