Suddenly I was in my element. I
began to smile, the hands started
moving and I never wanted the
evening to end. I recall wearing
my winter hat and jacket, but was
completely oblivious to the cold.
I got to introduce all of the
performers, including THE Miss
Piggy! The little bit I got to do with
her evoked my genuine laughter. I
was having the greatest time.
The show and my time on stage
ended that night with all of the
performers, along with Santa, on
stage dancing and singing the final
number. I stood right between Aloe
Blacc and Miss Piggy and danced
and sang right along with them.
Surreal.
The next day, I was headed into
President’s Park in the late morning
when I saw Reese pull up in a black
SUV out front and walk in right in
front of me, ready for the morning
rehearsal.
Oh, if only I could have done it
again! But what an unforgettable
experience! It’s incredible how fast
a door can open and opportunity
can strike, as long as you’re willing
to pursue it.
Always look for these moments.
I would have never had that
experience had I not have asked for
it that night. No one would have
offered it to me. Don’t be afraid to
speak up as the worst someone can
tell you is no.
The chance that someone says “Yes”
is worth the risk.
It certainly was for me
that night!
