NUDE: Let’s start of with a little introduction. Tell us about your position at RAEN and give a little background on the company. Jordan: Sure. My name is Jordan Percy, I’m a Co-Founder and my role is that of Design Director - I head up production here at RAEN. The company is a design-driven independent eyewear brand. We were founded by designers, determined to create authentic, innovative, hand-made optics that ofer intrinsic value and timeless style. NUDE: How did RAEN originally get its start and how long has it been established? Jordan: RAEN was founded in the summer of 2008. We started RAEN with the intention to create modern classics, really great handmade eyewear, using superior lens' and acetate material, at a reasonable price. We’ve always presented this product through the lens of friends, ambassadors, and comrades who share our passions for travel, surf and adventures of all kinds to create an authentic lifestyle brand. NUDE: The company prides itself on timeless optics and vintage styles. Could you tell us more about where your design inspirations come from? Jordan: Since day one, we’ve used the term “modern classic.” It implies that while we may be taking inspiration from the past, it is not complete unless it feels wholly modern. We strive to create frames grounded in a classic, timeless aesthetic that also feel contemporary and original. All our designs start with pen to paper, and may be inspired from any number of things. Our story boards include architecture, auto design, bikes, textiles and images we take while traveling - it's a really eclectic pool of inspiration we are drawing from. N U D E NUDE: What makes you guys unique compared to other sunglass brands? Jordan: I think it's finding the right combination of all the key points mentioned above. Finding that sweet spot of quality handmade cratsmanship, original design, and authentic lifestyle that grounds us and connects us to our audience. NUDE: If you wanted the company to be known by one thing, what would it be? Jordan: Quality. Design Director // 33
