NUDE: Give us a little background on yourself
and where you grew up.
Rene: I’m from France! I grew up in a little
town close to the capital. I studied in Paris
then I went to an Art school to get a Master's
Degree in Typography Edition as a Graphic
Designer. While I was studying, I was also
practicing martial arts such as Kickboxing and
Brazilian Jujitsu - l love to do all kinds of
extreme sports. My life has been a mix of
painting at art school and sweating at the gym.
NUDE: What do you feel you can accomplish
through modeling?
Rene: Modeling is a great opportunity. It
allows me to work, travel and meet all diferent
types of interesting people and I think you can
learn something from everyone. It's all about
surprise. I don’t like to plan the future, and
with modeling you can’t plan anything, that's
why it’s perfect for me.
NUDE: What would you do if you knew you
could never fail?
Rene: I actually think we need to fail. We grow
up because we learn from our mistakes. I think
someone who will never fail, will never
appreciate happiness. My only goal in life is to
be happy.
NUDE: Since you also pursue photography,
do you feel you have an advantage as a
model?
Rene: I think being a photographer
definitely helps me with modeling because I
have a diferent perspective on things and
I'm a little more aware of what works and
what doesn’t work. At the same time, I want
the people to know that I’m not just
interested in modeling, I’m actually very
curious and I like to do other things that are
not attached to the Fashion Industry.
NUDE: If you were not in the photography
scene, what would you be doing right now?
Rene: I like to create so I can find a way to
express myself. I also love drawing and
writing - I want to make a book or do an
exposition one day.
NUDE: What type of person do you consider
yourself to be?
Rene: I’m curious about the world, and
hungry to do things. I strive to be a better
person every day, learn as much as I can and
just be happy. I try not to care about the past
or the future. I believe in the present
moment as the key to happiness.
