Big Voice follows the tumultuous
yearlong journey of choir director
Jeffe Huls and his ensemble "The
Madrigals" as they strive to create
extraordinary music within the
context of a public school. This film
demonstrates why the arts in K-12
are important. They are more than
acting, painting or singing. Arts can
be used to impart life skills and life
lessons. Moreover, this film shows
how good teachers of any subject
can make a difference in young
people's lives-- we all wish our
children had a teacher like Mr Hull.

A team of volunteer doctors and
nurses are on board a unique ship.
Crammed with medical supplies
and volunteer medics, this floating
hospital sails to the poorest nations
on earth. This year they sail for
Guinea on the West African Coast.
On arrival they will face the most
severe of medical issues, not seen
in other parts of the world. But the
medical challenges are only half of
the story. They will confront ethical
decisions as they decide who will
be helped and who will not. This
is a searing, complex journey for
the volunteer medics, as they
deal with life and death cases -
and balance the fates of these
patients in their hands.

for her fierce environmentalism.

Glen Canyon Dam, a battle she
hasn’t given up decades after the
dam was built and even after she
passed the 90-year mark. The
inimitable Lee has been in many
films at the festival, but the short
doc Kickass Katie Lee takes a
different, more personal look at
this indomitable spirit.

forever and prepared him for the
greatest adventure, as he slowly
faces his own mortality. It is a
mind-bending adventure through
time and space that gives physical
form to Jeff's unique philosophies

Danielle Lancelot Watson makes
a carefree decision to go rock
climbing in Colorado. Nearly
three hundred feet up a cliff
face, the worst happens, as she
is sent free-falling to the ground.
Miraculously Danielle lives, the only
person to survive a fall from such
a height. Although her body was
broken, her spirit has soared to even
greater heights. Before long, she
fulfills a lifelong dream to ride again.
