7th Annual
Prescott Film Festival
July 17-24, 2016
“…supporting independent and critically acclaimed films and filmmakers….”
We are celebrating our 7th annual festival this year and are THRILLED with the lineup
of fantastic films and workshops! Each year we have grown and changed a bit, all the
while keeping our mission at the forefront of what we do. We continue to present
amazing “movies that move you” and “entertain, inspire and inform.”
Our films are unique, fun, fascinating, inspiring and many bring us a true sense of
gratitude for living in (or having a chance to visit) the Central Arizona Highlands we call
home.
This year, thanks to the Yavapai College Film and Media Arts Program, an impressive
slate of workshops will be held during PFF. These are fantastic offerings for new and
experienced filmmakers, movie geeks and lovers of the art form! This is a chance to
meet professionals in the industry, hear about their experiences and perhaps, through
these workshops, take craft and/or enjoyment and appreciation of film to the next level.
There will be a representative from RED Cinema camera giving a demo, a professional
animation editor, an award winning sound designer and editor, a film preservationist, a
film financer, (yeah; a “money guy!”) two screenwriting workshops and several successful
indie filmmakers. These will all be “don’t miss” FREE workshops!
This year’s fest kicks off with a special “Film Noir and Pinot Noir” wine tasting. The
noir film is The Lady from Shanghai starring Orson Welles and Rita Hayworth. Our special
guest? Beatrice Welles, daughter of Orson Welles. We will have a special screening on
the National Day of the Cowboy, July 23rd. Additionally we will have quirky unique films,
and a fantastic slate of shorts for your enjoyment!
The Prescott Film Festival would not be possible without the help of our generous
sponsors, grantors and volunteers. Please thank a volunteer when you have a chance.
And take note of the sponsors and grantors in this program guide and on the “big
screen” in our theatres. When you see them or frequent their businesses, please tell
them you appreciate their support of the Prescott Film Festival.
Have a wonderful festival experience and thank YOU for your support!
