students to be able to function properly
within the education system and also in
their adult life. She hopes that completion
of this programme will assist her in
becoming a resource person for teacher
and parent workshops for best practices
within the school setting.
Lisian Thomas (36)
Lisian is currently studying BSC
Nursing Oncology at UWI, St. Augustine
Campus, Trinidad. She will be returning
for her final year in September
and upon completion will be assigned to
the Oncology Dept. at MSJMC. (Recipient

Trecy Spencer (35)
Trecy has completed her first year
of her BSC in Meteorology at the UWI
Cave Hill Campus,
Barbados, returning to continue her
studies in September. She believes that
accurate forecasting of the weather influences
the day-to-day life of all the community,
especially during the hurricane
season. Also, the study of Meteorology
is becoming more important considering
global warming and its consequences on
small developing islands of the Caribbean.

The IWC, established 1986, is a service
organization offering critical programs
for the community. In addition to
the scholarships, IWC provides Christmas
Hampers to the elderly and families
living in poverty. Details of IWC activities

The 9th annual IWC Golf for Education
Tournament, the primary fundraiser
for this scholarship program, has been
scheduled for Saturday, November 19,
2016 at Cedar Valley Golf Club. We encourage
everyone in the community to
participate with a sponsorship, auction
or prize donations,
as a golfer, or come for lunch and
to bid on exciting auction items. 2015
sponsors included

Elite Island Resorts, Virgin
Atlantic, FLOW, Subway, Island Provisions,
Digicel, Liat, St. Kitts Marriott
Resort Golf Club, Jumby Bay, Furniture

United Insurance. Many additional
local businesses generously sponsored
the event and donated items for the auction.
Cedar Valley Golf Club hosted the
event, with special mention to Daniel
Cadet, Andy Hall, David Kinnell, Tom
Hellier, Claudio Iturriaga, and Johnny
Tved.
