The Antigua and Barbuda Athletic Association will host the
2016 National Athletics Championship on Saturday July 9
and Sunday July 10, 2016 at the home of Athletics – Yasco
Complex. Vendors who wish to ply their trade in and outside

Grays Green suffer
first loss in two years

Defending Mixed champions in the Village netball
league, Grays Green have suffered their first defeat in two
years.
In the highly competitive match at the YMCA Sports
complex on Tuesday night, the westside team fell to Potters,
17-11.
Grays green struggled to pull together early in the first
half thus resulting in a double digit lead for Potters.
Despite, a few changes, the champions could not find
their winning formula.
In other the other mixed game of the night, St. Georges
defeated Bolans, 26-23 while in the senior division, Freetown
bounced back from their disappointing loss to defeat
Parham, 23-17.
Bolans intermediate however did not follow in the footsteps
of the mixed as they trumped Old Road, 17-2 while
Seatons did away with Potters 21-6.
No Leewards player
in WI Test Hopefuls

The West Indies Cricket
Selectors have overlooked
players in the Leeward Islands
as they selected a
twelve-man squad known
as the WICB President’s X1
test hopefuls team to play
against India.
The two 2-day matches
will be played at Warner
Park in St. Kitts on July 9 th
& 10 th and again on July 14 th
& 16 th .
Leon Johnson will lead
the team which also consist
of Jermaine Blackwood, Rajendra
Chandrika, Roston
Chase, Shane Dorwich, Shai
Hope, Damion Jacobs, Keon
Joseph, Marquino Mindley,
Vishaul Singh and Jomel
Warrican.
The team will be coached
by Henderson Springer, Rayon
Griffith is the Manager/
Coach, and Ariane Mangar
is the Physiotherapist, while
Hector Martinez-Charles as
the Strength & Conditioning
Coordinator.
The warm up matches
paved the way for the four
test matches between West
Indies and India, the first of
which will be played here at
the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium
from July 21 st to 25 th .
