Customer Service
The Bat & Ball service style will be friendly and
efficient with a firm foundation in ‘old’ values. Staffing
levels will reflect this - most of our guests will be 45+
so every effort will be made to make them feel at ease.
There will be no fixed policy on service, if guests wish
to be served at table with drinks they can.
If they prefer they can be served at the bar in the
normal fashion.
Food ordering will be done at table and relayed to the
kitchen via EPOS machines.
Once guests have ordered their meal, drinks will be
served immediately. Next, bread, butter, oil, and then
starters followed by mains.
Back up orders for drinks will be taken throughout the
meal.
After mains have been served a fresh order will be
taken for cheese, desserts, coffees/teas and liqueurs.
The Bill will be presented to the person who requests
it. 10% service charge may be added to parties of 6 or
more.
As far as is possible guests will be left to enjoy each
other’s company as much as possible, drinks will be
topped up but not continually.
Water will be supplied in jugs with ice as a matter of
course.
Carbonated water will be available to purchase. Guest
feedback will be actively encouraged and some will be
asked to return as ‘mystery diners’.
Front of house staff will not be supplied with a set
uniform but high standards of appearance and
personal hygiene will be expected at all times.
Chefs will wear standard chef’s whites and again will be
expected to maintain a high level of personal hygiene.
