For a beautiful and rugged insight into Finland, camping is an excellent option. Escape crowds, traffic, deadlines and work, and explore over 20,000 islands and a large national park with fascinating wildlife and stunning landscapes. The Finnish coastline, including the archipelago islands, is more than 40,000 kilometres long. Dotted along the shores you’ll find lovely cottages for rent if camping is not your thing. Many are equipped for winter use too and are accessible all year round. Life in Finland’s archipelago is just the setting you need for a laidback camping holiday. KAYAKING One of the activites you can enjoy while camping is kayaking as well as a day trip by boat to the see the tallest lighthouse in the Nordic countries called Bengtskär. The labyrinthine Archipelago Sea is full of islands ranging from large ones with fishing villages and green pastures to tiny islets. Kayaking is fine for both beginners and experts as a skilled kayak guide can escort you on a day trip or multi-day expedition while camping out on the islands. Take in the wildlife, the fishing culture and water views, and simply enjoy the fresh, clean sea air.
