Empowering Digital to drive business change
seminar
Part of the 3rd HRcoreACADEMY

FOREWORD
With profound shifts in how employees are learning:
Gamification, Augmented Learning, Virtual Reality, Cloud LMS
and more, the traditional classroom model seems hopelessly
outdated. L&D practitioners know this, but find it harder to
change mindsets inside their organisation and empower the
technological aspects.
This new digital focus for HR is not simply about technology; it
changes the way we serve and support employees.
Our role in HR and L&D is clear — simplify. We need to ensure
that these tools are accessible, engaging and effective.
We believe this is an important response to help L&D and HR
professionals transition to a future-focused learning approach.
Research clearly shows that today's modern learner is short on
time, rushes to learn and wants to learn in his or her own way.
Learning teams will focus more on “experience” and less on
“program design” and therefore end-to-end design thinking will
spread throughout L&D; curation and knowledge sharing will
grow.
Managers will need to take more responsibility for supporting
learning journeys and building social teams. L&D can't organise
everything that everyone needs to learn but can play a big part in
making it happen!
BLA LEARNING BLA BLATECHNOLOGIES
Learning Technology for 2020 and Beyond
Ÿ Personalized Learning, Virtual classrooms, Apps, Mobile devices
and classrooms will all be part of the 24/7 learning ecosystem.
Most important will be to engage the learner in order to
motivate learning and stimulate performance
Ÿ One size does not fit all and people want personalized journeys
with use of self-paced and self-direction.
Ÿ An agile onboarding process will support the flow of new hires
as they will come not only from the home countries but more
and more from evolving countries
Ÿ Corporate culture, language and D&I will become key for the
new hire to select a company of choice
How GE L&D Drives Culture Change
How does a company of GE's size, with more than 300k employees,
keep pace with change, harness complexity and continue to deliver
results?
Ÿ GE has remained competitive because of its relentless quest for
progress on all fronts. It requires a constant reengineering of
business portfolios, operating models, and…culture.
Ÿ In this ever-changing world, simplification has become the
cultural transformation inside GE that is changing how the
company works.
Ÿ Insights into how GE's Leadership Development organisation
'Crotonville' set new expectations for leadership and
performance (GE Beliefs), has created a competency of
experimentation through a new way of working (FastWorks),
and created a more personalized, real-time approach to PM
The Transparency Dilemma: Managing Emotions and
Engagement in the Transparent Organization
Ÿ As information becomes increasingly abundant and accessible,
HR professionals face a dilemma: limit access to protect
sensitive information, or open access to enable the free
flow of information.
Ÿ This session will address the successes and failures of
organizations that have gone beyond transparency in
compensation and performance, and into the unknown frontier
of transparency in information flows more broadly.
Ÿ The objective is to explore how organizations can anticipate
and address changing expectations and demands for radical
transparency in today's organizations.
