ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE<br />

(Christanna and John H. Daniel Campuses)<br />

Award: Certificate<br />

Length: Thirty-four to thirty-five credit hour program<br />

Purpose: The Certificate of Administration of Justice<br />

is designed to train individuals for work in police and<br />

correctional facilities and for other jobs related to the<br />

administration of justice. This training is planned for<br />

both individuals preparing for criminal justice jobs and<br />

to supplement special training offered by agencies.<br />

Occupational Objectives: The following occupational<br />

titles represent examples of possible employment<br />

opportunities:<br />

Correctional Officer<br />

Law Enforcement Officer<br />

Private Security Officer<br />

Loss Prevention Specialist<br />

Claims Officer<br />

Public Safety Officer<br />

Program Description: This two-semester program is<br />

structured around a central core of courses that deal<br />

with the criminal justice system, criminal behavior, the<br />

law, and crisis intervention. In addition to these courses,<br />

students may also select electives in various specialized<br />

topics. Students with disabilities are eligible for admission<br />

to the program. Students are urged to consult with<br />

their faculty advisor or a counselor for assistance in<br />

planning their programs and selecting electives.<br />
