About the authors<br />
Maura Calsyn is the Director of Health Policy at the Center for American<br />
Progress. In this capacity, she plays a leading role in the Center’s health policy<br />
development and advocacy efforts. Her work covers a range of topics, including<br />
Medicare and Medicaid payment reform, health care transparency, and trends in<br />
employer-sponsored insurance.<br />
Brendan Duke is the Associate Director for Economic Policy at the Center for<br />
American Progress. His research areas include macroeconomics, corporate behavior,<br />
economic inequality, and intergenerational economic mobility. Duke served as<br />
a staff member of the Center’s Inclusive Prosperity Commission in 2014.<br />
Sarah Edelman is the Director of Housing Policy at the Center for American<br />
Progress. Her work focuses on foreclosure prevention, single-family rental, and<br />
promoting access to affordable housing. Prior to joining the Center, Edelman<br />
worked in the areas of community development, community organizing, and<br />
consumer protection at Public Citizen, Community Legal Services, the office of<br />
Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation<br />
Division of Consumer Protection.<br />
Andy Green is the Managing Director of Economic Policy at the Center for<br />
American Progress. His research focuses on financial markets, international<br />
trade, and economic policy. Prior to joining the Center, he served as counsel to<br />
Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Kara Stein. He<br />
also served as counsel to U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) on banking, trade, and<br />
budget matters and staff director of the Senate Banking Committee Economic<br />
Policy Subcommittee.<br />
Jamal Hagler is the Research Assistant for Progress 2050 at the Center for<br />
American Progress.<br />
Katie Hamm is the Senior Director of Early Childhood Policy at the Center for<br />
American Progress. Prior to joining the Center, Hamm worked as a program examiner<br />
at the U.S. Office of Management and Budget on federal child care and early<br />
education programs. She also worked on international issues in early childhood<br />
while on detail to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.<br />
