As anybody who attended the World Cup in 2014 can attest, there are few places in the world more vibrant,<br />
more energetic and more passion-inducing than South America. As part of our celebrations of the Summer<br />
Olympics in Rio for <strong>2016</strong>, we have gathered together a list of the best places to explore in Latin America…<br />
11. The Amazon Basin, Brazil<br />
It would be a huge underestimation to say<br />
that the Amazon Rainforest is only visit-able<br />
in Brazil. Covering much of the continent, the<br />
Amazon Basin is one of the more obvious<br />
and traditional images tourists will have in<br />
mind when thinking of South America. Hugely<br />
popular for intrepid tourists all year round, one<br />
of the busiest and best places to touch down<br />
when exploring the Amazon is the Brazilian<br />
city of Manaus.<br />

2. Buenos Aires, Argentina<br />
One of Latin America’s biggest appeals for tourists<br />
worldwide is its unique cultural blends of indigenous cultures<br />
(including the ancient Incas and Mayans) and the strong<br />
influence of colonial Europe. One of the largest cities in Latin<br />
America, Buenos Aires maintains a strong European vibe<br />
whilst also treating its visitors to the continent’s customary<br />
friendliness and frenetic energy.<br />
3. Cancun, Mexico<br />
Outside of the South American continent but no less Latin,<br />
Cancun in Mexico has become famed as a luxury holiday<br />
destination. Between its lavish holiday resorts and incredible<br />
Mayan ruins (including the world-famous Chichen Itza),<br />
Cancun offers just about everything that a visitor to Latin<br />
America could possibly want.
