Remember to Use OAP Network Providers<br />
As you know, starting July 1, 2016, the National<br />
Roofers Union and Employers Joint Health and<br />
Welfare Fund contracted with the Cigna Open<br />
Access Plus (OAP) network instead of the Cigna PPO<br />
network. The change to Cigna OAP will bring added<br />
cost-savings to both you and our Plan.<br />
Cigna’s Open Access Plus (OAP) plan provides you with<br />
greater access and convenience. Members have direct<br />
access to Cigna’s broad national provider network and the<br />
option to make their own health care choices. Members<br />
also have the option to choose a primary care physician<br />
(PCP) to serve as their personal physician and help coordinate<br />
health needs. Members can access care in-network or<br />
out-of-network without a referral. Please note: certain services<br />
and procedures may still require providers to obtain<br />
precertification based on the provisions of the plan.<br />
Your greatest savings is achieved when you choose an<br />
OAP in-network provider. These OAP providers discount<br />
the cost of their services to you and the Plan. OAP providers<br />
are added to and deleted from the OAP network during<br />
the year, so it’s best to check with Cigna or the provider<br />
to be sure the provider is still participating in the Cigna<br />
Open Access Plus (OAP) network. For a list of in-network<br />
