CUT BEFORE - MACHINE ADJUSTMENTS<br />
UPPER THREAD DRAW OFF (ROCKING TENSION TYPE)<br />
The amount of thread required to start the next buttonhole varies with the conditions and classes of<br />
work. Usually thin work requires more thread for starting purposes than heavy work. If more than one<br />
grade of work is passed thru the machine, it is desirable to make the adjustment on the lightest<br />
materials.<br />

Operation Of Upper Thread Draw Off<br />
Tension should swing in the direction of arrow (X) immediately after the machine starts, and in<br />
the direction of arrow (Y) when the machine is at the far end of its travel.<br />
Adjustment Of Upper Thread Draw Off<br />
To obtain maximum length of starting thread at - make sure machine is in its normal stopping<br />
position. Loosen screws and and rotate cam to the point where pin is at the very top<br />
of the cam rise at as shown above. Then tighten screws and securely.<br />
To decrease length of starting thread at adjust the position of cam as required in the<br />
direction of arrow marked less.<br />
