SNAP Swim Lessons<br />

Adaptive swimming programming is for individuals of all ages and<br />

abilities. Specialized instruction by qualified staff and volunteers<br />

will allow children and adults with physical or cognitive disabilities<br />

to develop healthy lifestyles by being active, building confidence,<br />

socializing, and having fun. At the Y, we can provide a safe and<br />

caring environment that will open the door to all possibilities<br />

Aquatic Specialty Lessons / Swim<br />

Diving Instruction<br />

Ages: 8-18<br />

Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday<br />

Learn basic diving skills that lead to more advanced dives off our<br />

one-meter boards. Our experienced diving staff teach divers in a<br />

lightly competitive, yet encouraging atmosphere. Participants must<br />

be Minnow level swimmer or above and be willing to jump off a<br />

one-meter board into 12 feet of water.<br />

Ellis and Associates Lifeguarding <strong>Program</strong><br />

Ages: 15 and up<br />

Friday, Saturday and Sunday<br />

Prerequisites: Swim 200 yards (8 lengths); tread water for two<br />

Minutes without using your hands; perform a feet first surface dive<br />

to life a 10-pound brick off the bottom of the pool. Upon 100%<br />

attendance and successful completion of water skills and written<br />

exam, participants will receive a one-year certification in Ellis and<br />

Associate Lifeguarding. Minimum of five participants required to run<br />
