Now through Jan. 8, including Christmas
Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Eve,
Eureka boasts one of the most iconic
attractions of the holiday season – Santa’s
Magical Kingdom.
Sponsored, in part, by West Newsmagazine,
Santa’s Magical Kingdom features
millions of lights, glistening fountains and
even a shimmering 300-foot waterfall. A
tunnel of dancing lights, as long as a football
field, surrounds visitors spectacular
special effects.
Think there’s only one Gateway Arch?
Think again. Santa’s Magical Kingdom
has its very own scale model of the famous
arch complete with a dazzling explosion of
“fireworks” that light up the sky.
The kingdom’s hours of operation are
5:30-11 p.m., Friday and Saturday and
5:30-10:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday.
Admission is based on vehicle size
with family cars, trucks, mini vans, up to
8-passenger vans and SUVs being $22;
limousines, 12- to 15-passenger vans, commercial
transport vans and small buses are
$30.
Of course, Santa makes sure to visit and
guests can get their pictures taken with him
[for an additional fee].
Legend has it that Santa asked Yogi, “If
we use your Jellystone Park, could you
light it up some, so it won’t be so dark?”
“Hey, hey, hey,” Yogi replied, after he
thought for awhile. “We’ll string Christmas
lights everywhere. You’ll see them for
miles!”
Santa had an even better idea. “We’ll
decorate the park and let families drive
through,” he said. “They can see where we
live and the work that we do, from building
big toys to tiny shoe laces. We’ll bring joy
to the families and smiles to their faces.”

Take a break from the hustle and bustle
of shopping and baking, and bring the
family to the Farmers & Merchants
Bank holiday open

Thursday,
Dec. 22.
Santa and a few of
his reindeer helpers
will be at the bank,
greeting guests
before they return to
the North Pole to make
ready for their travels
on Christmas Eve. The
whole family will enjoy visiting with the
reindeer and the jolly old gent and sharing
a bit of the magic and excitement of the
season.
St. Louis children’s author, Ryan Nusbickel,
also will be on hand to sign his
Christmas-inspired books, including a
pre-sale copy of his most recent work,
“Cloudy with a Chance of Toasted Rav.”
In this delightfully fun and funny book,
the local author and illustrator highlights
St. Louis food culture and yummy fare
with humor by creating an imaginative ice
rink made of frozen custard and storms of
ranch dressing.
Adding to the festivities, staff members
from the St. Louis County Library will
inspire creativity and imagination with
holiday-themed crafts for kids of all ages.
