To support artists residencies and related activities. First-time resident artists will benefit from studio space,<br />
room and board, and exchanges with peer artists. For qualified artists who may not be able to af<strong>for</strong>d time away<br />
from o<strong>the</strong>r employment, MacDowell will also provide financial aid and travel support.<br />
Montalvo Association (aka Montalvo <strong>Arts</strong> Center)<br />
$15,000 Saratoga, CA<br />
To support artist residencies. Selected emerging and mid-career artists from diverse disciplines will be offered<br />
fully funded residencies. Artists will present <strong>the</strong>ir work on-site and in <strong>the</strong> community through exhibitions and<br />
per<strong>for</strong>mances, and through educational and outreach activities.<br />
Ox Bow (aka Ox-Bow)<br />
$20,000 Saugatuck, MI<br />
To support residencies and related activities <strong>for</strong> artists in all stages of <strong>the</strong>ir careers. Fully subsidized residencies,<br />
selected by a panel of experts familiar with Ox-Bow and <strong>the</strong> contemporary art world, will support both national<br />
and international artists in <strong>the</strong> summer and fall. In addition, <strong>the</strong>re will be non-credit residencies offered <strong>for</strong> an<br />
arts faculty member and MFA students.<br />
Playa<br />
$20,000 Summer Lake, OR<br />
To support residencies <strong>for</strong> artists and scientists. Residencies will provide fieldwork and collaboration<br />
opportunities <strong>for</strong> artists and scientists investigating <strong>the</strong> issues surrounding climate change. Residents will receive<br />
lodging in fully equipped cabins, studio space, and meals. In addition, a symposium and monthly presentations<br />
will be offered and selected works related to <strong>the</strong> field will be published.<br />
Point Community Development Corporation (aka THE POINT)<br />
$15,000 Bronx, NY<br />
To support artist residencies and related activities. Participants will be encouraged to focus <strong>the</strong>ir art on solutions<br />
to environmental challenges and social injustices. Workshops, exhibitions, mural production, and teen art<br />
programs will be offered in addition to artist residencies.<br />
S&R Foundation<br />
$25,000 Washington, DC<br />
To support residencies <strong>for</strong> emerging artists with a focus on public participatory programs and related activities.<br />
Through an open juried process, as many as eight U.S. and four international artists focusing on social practice<br />
art will be chosen. As part of <strong>the</strong>ir residency, U.S. and international artists will work with local high school<br />
students and artists from <strong>the</strong> area.<br />
Salem Art Works (aka SAW)<br />
$10,000 Salem, NY<br />
To support a summer artist residency program and related activities. Resident artists will receive room and<br />
board, studio space, and access to all equipment and facilities, which includes a welding bay, iron and bronze<br />
foundry, blacksmith shop, print studio, glass shop, wood shop, ceramic shop and fabrication shop. Public<br />
programs such as workshops, demonstrations, per<strong>for</strong>mances, and exhibitions will engage <strong>the</strong> community with<br />
contemporary art and artists.<br />
Serenbe Institute <strong>for</strong> Art, Culture and <strong>the</strong> Environment (On behalf of AIR Serenbe)<br />
$20,000 Chattahoochee Hills, GA<br />
