1. Punjab University Library arranged a condolence reference in commemoration with the departed souls of<br />

Mr. Jamil Ahmad Rizwi, (Former Chief <strong>Librarian</strong>), Mian Anwar-ul-Haq Qureshi (Former Chief<br />

<strong>Librarian</strong>/Chairman Department of Library & Information Science), Mr. Raja Muhammad Ibrahim,<br />

President Pakistan Library Association (Headquarter), and Prof. Dr. Fauzia Hashmi (Department of Library<br />

& Information Science, Islamia University of Bahawalpur) on July 1, <strong>2016</strong>.<br />

2. A condolence reference with collective prayer was arranged for Mr. Raja Muhammad Ibrahim (Late), Ex<br />

Chief <strong>Librarian</strong>, COMSATS, Islamabad at COMSATS, Lahore Campus on July 27, <strong>2016</strong>.<br />

3. Pakistan Library Association and Department of Libraries hold Quran Khani and condolence reference in<br />

commemoration with the late Raja Muhammad Ibrahim on July 27, <strong>2016</strong> at National Library of Pakistan,<br />

Islamabad.<br />

4. Sada-e-<strong>Librarian</strong> presents a database “Find a <strong>Librarian</strong>” to access the biodata of library professionals of<br />

Pakistan.<br />

5. Research paper of Mr. Amjad Khan, <strong>Librarian</strong>, Department of Pharmacy, University of Peshawar stood<br />

Number 1 by the American Association for Information Sciences & Technology in International Conference<br />

at Copenhagen, Denmark.<br />

6. Read & Write Pakistan started the first kind of campaign in Pakistan on the eve of its first anniversary “Build<br />

Little Free Library Around You” in order to build a free book exchange program. <strong>The</strong>se little free libraries<br />

will work under the principal of “Take a Book, Leave a Book”.<br />

7. Mr. Syed Ghyour Hussain Shah has been selected as President and Mr. Muhammad Jawwad as Secretary<br />

General of Pakistan Library Association (Headquarter).<br />

8. Read Pakistan will provide up to 3,000 free books (Children Literature) for establishing "Read Pakistan<br />

School Library" at the Learning School.<br />

9. Read Pakistan has established two more school libraries at Government Girls Primary School Nasir Colony<br />

No 4 UC 2 Korangi and Government Boys Primary School Korangi 3 1/2.<br />

10. Read & Write Pakistan, and National Book Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work<br />

jointly on different little projects for the promotion of reading culture.<br />

11. Read & Write Pakistan established “Little Free Library” under the umbrella of its main campaign “Build<br />

Free Little Library Around You” at Tramri Chowk, Irfanabad.<br />

12. <strong>The</strong> first anniversary of Read & Write Pakistan was celebrated by district coordinators all over the Pakistan.<br />

13. Quaid-i-Azam Library, Government Punjab Public Library, Nazria Pakistan Trust, and Punjab Archives<br />

Department, Lahore arranged Independence Day's celebrations from August 5-14, <strong>2016</strong> at Quaid-i-Azam<br />

Library.<br />

14. A meeting on "How libraries can be improved in Pakistan” was held for making a working group of LIS<br />

professionals to improve libraries and its services in Pakistan on September 27, <strong>2016</strong> at Information<br />

Resource Center, US Embassy, Islamabad.<br />

15. Ms. Narjis Batool, District Coordinator for Sargodha visited Children Library Complex Sargodha, arranged<br />

a session with children, and built little free library to motivate them for reading.<br />

16. Pakistan <strong>Librarian</strong>s Welfare Organization (PLWO) has restructured its bodies of Head Quarter, Federal and<br />

Provincial branches.<br />

17. <strong>The</strong> initial meetings of Pakistan <strong>Librarian</strong>s Welfare Organization (PLWO) in all branches of Pakistan held<br />

and different committees were formed and future plans, activities, were discussed to meet its objectives.<br />

18. Peshawar Universities Campus <strong>Librarian</strong>s Association PUCLA organized a Grand Convention of Library<br />

Professionals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on October 29, <strong>2016</strong> at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar.<br />

19. 35 College <strong>Librarian</strong>s of the Punjab province have been up-graded from BPS-17 to BPS-18.<br />
