presented a high state of advancement in spiritual<br />

knowledge. "Nevertheless," saith the True Witness,<br />

"I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast<br />

left thy first love. Remember therefore from<br />

whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first<br />

works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and<br />

will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except<br />

thou repent.... He that hath an ear, let him hear<br />

what the Spirit saith unto the churches: To him that<br />

overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life,<br />

which is in the midst of the paradise of God."<br />

Will our churches have an ear to hear? Will<br />

they take heed? Will they by faith secure the<br />

heavenly anointing, the oil of grace which keeps<br />

the lamps burning that they may discern their<br />

defects, their destitution of the love of God?<br />

Certain it is that the love, earnest, vital love for<br />

Jesus has been dying out of our churches. Will<br />

every member of the church arouse? Will they put<br />

on Jesus Christ? And will they heed His positive<br />

requirements? "Remember therefore from whence<br />

thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works."<br />
