of sanctification. Your parents have had an<br />

unsanctified love <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir children, which has<br />

blinded <strong>the</strong>ir eyes to <strong>the</strong>ir defects. At times, when<br />

<strong>the</strong>y have been somewhat aroused, this has been<br />

different. But you have been petted and praised<br />

until your eternal interest is endangered.<br />

I saw that you do not know yourself. You have<br />

a self-righteousness which fastens you in deception<br />

in regard to your spiritual attainments. At times<br />

you have felt something of <strong>the</strong> influences of <strong>the</strong><br />

Spirit of God. But to <strong>the</strong> trans<strong>for</strong>mation by <strong>the</strong><br />

renewing of <strong>the</strong> mind you are a stranger. "Be not<br />

con<strong>for</strong>med to this world: but be ye trans<strong>for</strong>med by<br />

<strong>the</strong> renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what<br />

is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of<br />

God." You have not had this experience, <strong>the</strong>re<strong>for</strong>e<br />

have no anchor. You are not a Christian, and yet it<br />

has been talked to you all your life that you were a<br />

natural Christian. You have taken it <strong>for</strong> granted that<br />

you were all right, when you were very far from<br />

being accepted of God. This deception has grown<br />

with your growth, and streng<strong>the</strong>ned with your<br />

strength, and threatens to prove your ruin. Your<br />
