About me
From an early age wildlife and art became
a true passion. I grew up on Exmoor in a
hamlet called Brendon not far from the well
known Lynton & Lynmouth. I would forever
wander across the moors, venture into
the woods and spend hours exploring the
shores and rivers. Captivated by the wonder
and beauty of the natural world around me,
I would spend countless hours drawing
animals from books. From childhood being
surrounded by wildlife became an integral
part of who I am today.
After secondary education I pursued my
career in carpentry & joinery becoming
fully qualified. Having learnt my trade, I
soon became aware that commercial
construction was not an environment
that enabled me to utilise my artistic flare
to its full potential. I made the decision
to become self employed and to use my
creative skills in my bespoke woodwork
which has reignited my passion for art. This
rekindled passion has encouraged me to
fully concentrate on my artwork. With
influence from natures beauty it's effortless
to find inspiration for my next drawing.
Thoughts on wildlife
The natural world creates a true spectacle
and my aspiration is to capture its wonder.
The diversity of life on Earth is not only
wondrous, but is essential to our survival
on the planet. - Tony Mariosa
